Helen enjoyed over 25 years in the television industry where she travelled the world covering everything from US Elections in Washington DC to chasing tornados in Texas and from covering New York fashion week to filming schools being built in deprived areas in India. She rounded off her TV career as Deputy Editor of ITV Lorraine where she focused on content and features for the programme which included campaigns, fashion, beauty and food.
The mum of 3 created a Bafta nominated national breast cancer awareness campaign called ‘Change And Check’ which she launched on ITV Lorraine whilst fighting her own aggressive diagnosis. The simple reminder sticker initiative which goes on shop/gym changing room mirrors has been supported by the likes of John Lewis, Asda, David Lloyd and Monsoon (to name a few) and has recently been endorsed by the NHS. The lifesaving campaign has been discussed in Parliament, adopted by the police force nationwide and the Royal Mail even put it on their post marks. Since launch in 2019, hundreds of women (and 1 man!) have said that ‘Change + Check’ saved their lives. Helen formed a choir with some of the women she has helped and they reached number 1 TWICE in the Official Download Charts with their charity singles featuring Joss Stone and Marti Pellow raising thousands for breast cancer research. The choir recently were asked to perform in front of the King at Buckingham Palace.
In 2025 Helen was awarded an MBE in the King's birthday honours list for her services to cancer campaigning and fundraising.
